PE shrink film and POF shrink film are two common heat shrink film materials, each with its own characteristics in terms of performance, application and environmental protection.
Performance comparison
Thickness and cost:
POF shrink film: thinner thickness, usually 0.012mm, specific gravity is 0.92, so the unit cost is lower.
PE shrink film: thicker thickness, usually above 0.03mm, specific gravity is 0.92, and the unit cost is higher.
Physical properties:
POF shrink film: thin and tough, good moisture resistance, soft texture, high tensile strength, high tear resistance, adjustable shrinkage, good rubbing resistance.
PE shrink film: thick and tough, good moisture resistance, soft texture, lower tear resistance than POF, poor shrinkage adjustability, and inferior rubbing resistance than POF.
Cold resistance:
POF shrink film: Remains elastic at -50℃, suitable for frozen food packaging.
PE shrink film: Remains elastic at low temperatures, suitable for frozen environments
Environmental protection:
POF shrink film: non-toxic and environmentally friendly, in line with US FDA and USDA standards, can be used for food packaging. PE shrink film: also non-toxic and environmentally friendly, in line with US FDA and USDA standards.
Application fields
POF shrink film: widely used in food, cosmetics, gifts, medicines, stationery, toys, audio-visual products, electronics, wood products, plastic hardware, daily necessities and other industries, suitable for semi-automatic or fully automatic shrink packaging machines.
PE shrink film: widely used in beer, beverages, tobacco, mineral water and other industries
